Strengthening education systems requires strong partnerships, sustained investment, and a shared commitment to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to learn, thrive, and reach their full potential. TEN/MET was honored to engage with Morten Sigsgaard and Mohamed Sabul from Global Partnership for Education (GPE) in a meaningful discussion on advancing education transformation in Tanzania.

Through support from GPE under the Education Out Loud (EOL) initiative, TEN/MET has continued to champion innovative, community-driven interventions that are improving access to inclusive, equitable, and quality education for children across Tanzania. The partnership has contributed to stronger citizen engagement, increased accountability in education financing, and amplified voices of communities and civil society in shaping education reforms.

As Tanzania advances major education sector reforms, including the implementation of the improved curriculum and the revised Education and Training Policy, sustained and increased investment in education remains more important than ever. While notable progress has been achieved, significant gaps still persist particularly in equitable access to learning, teacher support, learning environments, gender-responsive education, and reaching the most marginalized children and young people. Continued financing and strategic collaboration are critical to ensure that no learner is left behind.

We commend GPE’s global commitment to supporting countries in strengthening resilient and inclusive education systems and financing transformative solutions that are helping nearly 750 million children across 96 countries access better education opportunities. Partnerships of this scale and vision are essential in accelerating progress toward quality education for all and building education systems that can respond to the evolving needs of learners and communities.
