At EAAW, we are working with producers, businesses, and institutions to transition toward more humane egg production systems—demonstrating that animal welfare, food systems, and market transformation can move forward together.
This work is not only improving the lives of farmed animals, but also strengthening responsible supply chains and advancing sustainable food practices in underserved communities.

Milestone for Animal Welfare in Tanzania 🇹🇿
A powerful step forward for animal welfare in Tanzania’s hospitality industry. Northland Safari, one of Tanzania’s leading safari companies, has pledged to source 100% cage-free eggs across its network of hotels and lodges — shifting 200,000+ eggs annually to ethical farming systems. Again, Almas Lounge in Arusha has made the same commitment, transitioning 250,000+ eggs each year to cage-free sourcing.
Combined impact: 450,000+ eggs per year now sourced from cage-free systems;
Together, these trailblazers are:
✔ Supporting humane farming
✔ Promoting responsible sourcing
✔ Inspiring hotels, lodges, and restaurants
✔ Advancing sustainable tourism
✔ Putting animal welfare at the heart of hospitality
This marks a major milestone in Tanzania’s journey toward ethical food systems and compassionate tourism, the initiative led and supported by Education for African Animals Welfare (EAAW), working with industry partners to accelerate the transition to cage-free systems across Africa.

Today EAAW had an opportunity to participate in the poultry stakeholders seminar organised by the Tanzania. The seminar aimed to bring together poultry stakeholders to discuss the state of poultry production in Tanzania. EAAW participated as a dedicated advocate for poultry welfare, working alongside partners to promote humane and sustainable poultry farming nationwide. Thanks to Tanzania, other organisers and EAAW partners.
