Mei Mosi | Celebrating Workers' Day with purpose

We spent an incredible international Workers' Day with the Hopes Miono team, honoring the spirit of Labor by giving back to the land. Together we planted over 2,500 trees to restore our local forest at Miono.

This milestone wass made possible by diverse group of partners and community members, including; representative from the Government Ward office, SANAPA, Magoda Bamboo, Roots & Shoots Clubs ( Miono & Kikaro High Schools), The Miono masai society & local neighbors.

It was a powerful connection, celebration and environmental action.

Thank you to everyone who joined this movement to Reforest the Earth.🌱🌍

🌿 Empowered Hands, Sustainable Futures

Over the past two days, the incredible Ndima Mamas have been on a powerful journey of learning and growth 💚

Through hands-on training in natural soap making, they are building skills that open doors to economic independence—while embracing eco-friendly practices that care for their environment 🌍

Beyond skills, this training created a space for strong engagement—where Ndima Mamas shared experiences, learned from one another, and built a supportive network that will continue beyond the training ✨

This is more than soap.
It’s confidence.
It’s resilience.
It’s women rising together

Today is Jane Goodall Day, Happy 92 birthday Jane.🦍🌱
Today is also Good Friday – a day the world already set aside for reflection, for what we have lost and for what endures. And this year, it carries something more special. For the very first time, the whole world is marking Jane’s birthday the way she always asked us to. With Hope, turned into action. And so you have many ways to celebrate the day, could it be planting something, picking something up. Feed something wild. However small it feels, it matters more than you can imagine.
We like to let Jane Smile.

Every child deserves a healthy start in life!

At the Hemedi Open Pediatric Clinic, SANA, under the coordination of pediatric endocrinologist Thomas Kintis, continues with dedication the voluntary pediatric endocrinology program — where science meets humanity.

This week, special focus was given to the most vulnerable: newborns and infants. Targeted screenings were carried out for congenital hypothyroidism — a “silent” but serious condition that, if not diagnosed early, can significantly affect a child’s life.
At the same time, children with serious conditions such as congenital heart diseases, sickle cell anaemia, and neurological disorders are identified and immediately referred to specialised centres, giving them a real chance for timely and proper care.

There, in simple rooms, life-changing stories are being written.
There, a look, a touch, a diagnosis — can change everything.

These images are not just moments. They are a reminder that access to healthcare is not a given for everyone.

Because every child saved makes our world a little better.

Every great impact begins with people coming together
Through the STORM C Project, a European Union–funded initiative🇪🇺,
We had the opportunity to sit down, share, and learn from one another as partners .
Invited by IOA and working alongside UYSTO and MONDO, this meeting was more than just discussions, it was about volunteers, stories, experiences, and a shared passion for creating change in our communities.
Because at the heart of it all, this project is about people showing up, giving their time, and building a better future together.

These are the faces of determination.
Women who wake up before sunrise, work tirelessly, and still carry hope for a better tomorrow.
Their jobs are not just work, they are acts of courage, love, and survival.
We honor their strength and stand with them as they build brighter futures for themselves and their communities.

Happy Women’s Day to all women.

For 13 years, we have been enrolling students into our scholarship program.
11 years focused in Gongo.
Now 2 years expanding to 5 villages around Saadani.
Today, we are proud to witness real change in Gongo’s education system
✨ No early marriages
✨ Fewer early pregnancies
✨ More girls staying in school

And most importantly, children can now confidently face their future and pursue dreams that once faded away after graduating Grade 7.

This is what community, commitment, and consistency look like.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this journey through donations, encouragement, and belief in our mission. We are together — and together we are transforming Saadani villages for good. 💚
