Sauti ya Mazingira Endelevu Tanzania (SAMAETA) is a voluntarily registered legal entity that is non-governmental and non-profit making; organized locally at the grassroots level but operates nationally for the purpose of advocating issues on public interest especially environmental protection, management and conservation. It is registered under the NGO Act No. 24 of 2002 as amended in 2015 with th
e motto, “We speak for the Environment”. The phrase Sauti ya mazingira endelevu refers to The sound of Sustainable Environment meaning that the Organization through its mission statement and objectives airs out the environmental problems, minimizes negative impacts to the environment and enhances positive impacts for sustainable environment. SAMAETA realizes the need for cooperation with the Government, other NGOs, Public institutions, Ministries, International organizations and all other stakeholders in ensuring environmental sustainability. To become a reputable Non-Governmental Organization that calls for creating incentives for sustainable utilization of natural resources, effective environmental management and disincentives for environmental pollution and degradation.
