From September 28 to October 1, we’ll be joining digital rights advocates, policymakers, and tech innovators from across the continent to discuss the future of internet freedom, digital safety, and open access in Africa.

Digital Resilience and Cybersecurity for Tanzanian Women in Media
The DIGA Africa team, in collaboration with J-Africa facilitated a specialized training on Digital Resilience and Cybersecurity at the Protea Hotel in Dar es Salaam. The intensive session was tailored for Tanzanian female investigative journalists, reporters, news anchors, content creators, and social media influencers.

The training was hosted and also facilitated by CIPESA. During the program, CIPESA’s own representative, Ms. Juliet, facilitated an impactful session on Journalism, focusing on the intersection of media freedom and digital safety.

Through this partnership, CIPESA, DIGA Africa, and J-Africa worked together to empower women in the media industry with the technical expertise needed to thrive safely in the digital age.

DIGA Africa: Digital Security and AI Capacity Building

In collaboration with a local Community Forum, the DIGA Africa team recently conducted a successful Digital Security and Artificial Intelligence capacity building session for the Tanzania Episcopal Conference (TEC) members in Kurasini, Dar es Salaam.

The session was designed to equip religious and community leaders with the knowledge necessary to navigate today’s complex digital environment. Key focus areas included:
• Digital Security: Implementing robust protocols to protect organizational data and enhance personal privacy.
• Artificial Intelligence: Understanding the practical applications of AI to improve efficiency in administrative and community outreach efforts.
• Strategic Growth: Ensuring that the TEC remains resilient and proactive in the face of rapid technological change.

By bridging the gap between traditional leadership and modern technology, DIGA Africa continues its commitment to fostering a secure and digitally empowered society.
