Reproductive rights are fundamental human rights that empower women and girls to make informed decisions about their bodies, health, and future.

When women and girls have access to quality healthcare, accurate information, family planning services, and the freedom to make decisions without discrimination or coercion, they are better equipped to pursue education, achieve their goals, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

Protecting reproductive rights is not only about health it is about dignity, equality and ensuring that every woman and girl can live a life of choice, opportunity, and wellbeing.

Empowered choices create healthier families, stronger communities, and a more just society for all.

Menstrual health is a matter of dignity, health, confidence, and human rights.

No girl should miss school, feel ashamed, or face discrimination because of her period.

As we commemorate Menstrual Hygiene Day, we continue to advocate for access to menstrual products, proper hygiene facilities, accurate information, and safe spaces for every girl and woman.

Let us break the stigma, end period shame, and create a society where menstruation is understood, respected, and supported.

Safe menstruation is a right not a privilege.

Access to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) is not a privilege it is a fundamental human right. Every woman and girl deserves access to safe healthcare, accurate information, maternal health support, family planning services, and confidential care without stigma or discrimination.

When women and girls are empowered to make informed decisions about their health and bodies, communities become healthier, safer, and more equal.
No one should be left behind in accessing dignity, healthcare, and protection.

Over the past two days, the Coalition for Women Human Rights Defenders Tanzania participated in the meeting titled “Reshaping an African Feminist Agenda to End Gender-Based Violence” in Nairobi, Kenya, hosted by FEMNET

The main objective of the meeting was to build collective strength to end gender-based violence against women and girls. We also discussed how gender-based violence has evolved from physical violence to digital violence, and explored strategies for supporting survivors of gender-based violence by helping them heal from trauma and providing safe shelters to protect them from further abuse.

Today marked an important milestone as the Coalition for Women Human Rights Defenders Tanzania participated in the launch and introductory meeting of the PEACE Project - Protecting and Empowering Against Child Sexual Exploitation and Peer Sexual Violence alongside key stakeholders and sectoral partners in Dar es Salaam.

As conversations around child protection continue to evolve, the PEACE Project aims to deepen understanding of the growing realities of peer sexual violence and child sexual exploitation among children and young people, while strengthening data-driven responses, collaboration and coordinated action across communities and institutions.

The Coalition remains committed to supporting efforts that advance the rights, safety and protection of children and young people in Tanzania.
