Transforming Lives Through VICOBA Empowerment
Hear from Tatu Mohamedi, a participant from the Wazawa VICOBA Group in Dar es Salaam, supported by TCRS in partnership with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America
Through four years of active participation in the Wazawa VICOBA Group, Tatu has made remarkable progress in her small business journey. What started as selling bananas informally by the roadside at Mabibo Sokoni has now grown into a more stable and formalized business with a dedicated selling space, allowing her to operate daily without disruption.
By accessing a loan through her VICOBA group, Tatu successfully increased her business capital from TZS 60,000 to TZS 100,000, strengthening her ability to sustain and grow her enterprise.
As a single mother and head of a household with two children, Tatu shares that the growth of her business has significantly improved her family’s living conditions, enabling her to meet essential household needs and provide better support for her children.
Looking ahead, Tatu aspires to further expand her business, reach more customers, increase her income, and strengthen her contributions and shares within her VICOBA group.
At TCRS, our mission is to empower vulnerable communities to overcome poverty, build self-reliance, and live with dignity while enjoying the God-given fullness of life.
