defenders (HRDs) including artists, bloggers and journalists from across Africa, including those living outside the continent. By providing a platform to more than 115 local civil society NGOs operating in Africa, AHRN also aims to equip defenders with necessary tools and tactics to withstand pressures, such as digital security trainings, capacity-building activities, and temporary relocation for those threatened because of their work. AHRN brings members of the human rights community together by hosting events in a secure social setting, allowing HRDs to connect, share, and reflect on their experiences and generate newfound strategies to end human rights violations in Africa.

Index on Censorship is a nonprofit that campaigns for and defends free expression worldwide. The Southern African Youth Forum (SAYoF) in partnership with WWF and Climate Hub Tanzania organized a specialized training program on climate negotiators with a focus on inclusivity in Tanzania as a series of activities in the Environment and Climate Change cluster.

Human rights defenders from Nigeria, South Sudan, Burundi, Chad, and the DRC, who are currently residing in our Shelter City Dar es Salaam, participated in this training to acquire knowledge and share their experiences.
