ActionAid Tanzania was honoured as the Thematic Lead for SDG Goal 1: No Poverty during the Post-HLPF and 2026 VNR Reflection and Engagement Session, organized by the Tanzania Sustainable Development Platform (TSDP) under the hosting of UNA Tanzania. This recognition celebrates the power of collective action, partnerships, and civil society voices in advancing poverty eradication and inclusive development. Through its networks and engagement with communities, youth, grassroots actors, and CSOs, ActionAid Tanzania continues to bring evidence, experiences, and community priorities into national development discussions.
As Thematic Lead for SDG 1, ActionAid Tanzania has an important role in strengthening advocacy on poverty, inequality, social protection, and inclusive economic opportunities, while ensuring that the voices of communities most affected by poverty inform policy and decision-making. The VNR process reminds us that the work does not end with the report the next step is to take the recommendations back to the people, strengthen collective advocacy, engage decision-makers, and turn commitments into meaningful change in line with Tanzania’s development priorities and Dira 2050.
