Today, the Kigoma Regional Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) came together to review cases of people living with HIV who are still experiencing high viral loads.⁣

The MDT brings together doctors, nurses, pharmacists, lab staff, social welfare officers, and counsellors to understand the challenges each person faces and design the right solutions.
This teamwork helps ensure everyone gets the support they need to stay healthy and achieve viral load suppression.⁣

With support from the Ministry of Health, Regional and Council Health Management Teams, and partners, THPS is proud to stand alongside communities in Kigoma to improve health outcomes and strengthen HIV care for all.⁣

Yesterday, a high-level team of officials from , Kigoma Regional and Council Health Management Teams, & facility staff conducted a supportive supervision visit to strengthen HIV care & treatment services.

✅ Enhancing lab systems & supply chain
✅ Cervical cancer screening & treatment
✅ Data use for better decisions

Meet Antonia Samweli, a dedicated Community Outreach Volunteer from Handeni, Tanga.

Antonia goes above and beyond, visiting hotspots for female s*x workers, adolescent girls and young women, and people who inject drugs around Mkata—even at night—to educate them on the importance of HIV testing and the preventive services available, including condoms.

From October 2024 to June 2025, she has reached over 600 people, empowering them with knowledge and tools to protect their health.

Her commitment demonstrates that real change begins with dedicated community champions who genuinely care.
