Today, on Menstrual Hygiene Day, we join the global call for a world where menstruation is met with dignity, access, education, and support — a world that is truly “Together for a Period Friendly World.”

Menstruation is natural, yet millions of girls and women continue to face shame, silence, stigma, and barriers that affect their education, health, confidence, and opportunities. No girl should miss school because of her period. No young woman should feel embarrassed for something that is a normal part of life.

At ICCAO, we believe menstrual health is not just a hygiene issue — it is a matter of human rights, gender equality, health, and dignity. Through our work, we continue to create safe spaces where girls can access accurate information, speak openly without fear, and receive the support they deserve.

Creating a period-friendly world requires all of us:
🩸 Families that support open conversations
🩸 Schools with safe sanitation facilities
🩸 Communities that reject stigma and discrimination
🩸 Leaders who prioritize menstrual health policies and access
🩸 Young people who become advocates for change

This Menstrual Hygiene Day, let us break the silence, end period shame, and stand together for a future where menstruation never limits anyone’s potential.

Because periods should never stop dreams.

Monday reminder: every big impact starts with a small beginning.

ICCAO started with nothing but a vision, passion, and the belief that change was possible. Today, seeing how far we’ve grown — and how many lives and communities we’ve impacted through education, health, youth empowerment, mental health, and gender equality — reminds us that consistency really matters.

The journey hasn’t always been easy, but one thing we’ve learned is this: if you truly believe in your vision, giving up is never an option.

Start small. Stay focused. Keep going. Growth takes time, but it always comes.

👉 Vijana kuelewa haki zao

Tunajivunia kumuona kiongozi wetu akishiriki katika majukwaa makubwa k**a Commission on the Status of Women 70, tukichukua mafunzo, mitazamo mipya, na nguvu mpya ya kuendeleza kazi yetu hapa Tanzania.

Tuchague kinga, tuchague mabadiliko.

Eid Mubarak from ICCAO!
On this blessed occasion of Eid al-Fitr, we celebrate not only the end of Ramadan but the values it strengthens within us — compassion, generosity, patience, and unity.

Eid reminds us of the power of community, of standing together, and of giving back to those around us. These are the same values that continue to guide our work as we strive to build a more just, inclusive, and empowered society.

May this Eid bring peace to our hearts, strength to our communities, and hope for a brighter future for all.

Eid Mubarak to you and your loved ones.

Today we celebrate the strength, courage, and power of women and girls everywhere.

At Integrating Capacity and Community Advancement Organization (ICCAO), we believe that empowering women and girls is one of the most powerful ways to transform communities. When women are given opportunities, resources, and support, the impact goes far beyond individuals — it strengthens families, builds resilient communities, and creates a better future for everyone.

This year’s International Women's Day theme, “Give to Gain,” reminds us that meaningful change happens when we invest in women and girls. When we give access to education, leadership opportunities, economic empowerment, and safe spaces, we gain stronger voices, stronger communities, and lasting development.

Through our initiatives such as Sikio na Bega, which works to protect and support girls’ well-being and right to education, and Her Land Her Economy, which empowers young women farmers to improve livelihoods and economic independence, ICCAO continues to champion gender equality and women’s empowerment.

Today we celebrate every woman who is leading change — in homes, farms, schools, workplaces, and communities.

Let us continue to give support, give opportunity, give respect, and give voice — because when women rise, we all gain.

Happy International Women’s Day.

Through our ULEVI SIO DILI Project, ICCAO is convening a strategic capacity-building workshop that brings together Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and Local Media Practitioners to strengthen collective action in addressing alcohol-related harm within our communities.

Alcohol harm is not just a health issue — it is deeply connected to Gender-Based Violence (GBV), mental health challenges, road accidents, school dropouts, environmental degradation, family instability, and slowed social and economic development. This workshop therefore aims to deepen participants’ understanding of how alcohol consumption affects multiple sectors and to equip them with practical knowledge, evidence, and advocacy tools to respond effectively.

By strengthening the capacity of CSOs and media actors, we are fostering stronger partnerships and coordinated advocacy. Participants are encouraged to intentionally integrate alcohol harm prevention messaging into their ongoing programs, campaigns, storytelling, reporting, and community engagement efforts. Whether working in health, youth empowerment, women’s rights, education, governance, or environmental protection — alcohol harm prevention must become part of the conversation.

Together, we are shifting the narrative, influencing policy dialogue, and promoting healthier, safer, and more resilient communities.

From Vision to Impact: Redefining STEM by Closing the Gender Gap

For years, the vision has been clear: a world where women and girls have equal opportunities to learn, innovate, and lead in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Today, the focus is shifting from vision to impact — from conversations to concrete action.

Closing the gender gap in STEM is not just about access to education; it is about breaking stereotypes, removing systemic barriers, and creating supportive environments where girls can explore their potential without limits. When girls are given the right tools, mentorship, and opportunities, they don’t just participate in STEM — they redefine it.

At ICCAO, we believe that empowering women and girls in STEM is an investment in stronger communities, inclusive innovation, and sustainable development. By supporting education, digital skills, and leadership pathways for girls, we are helping turn ideas into solutions and aspirations into measurable impact.

This International Day of Women and Girls in Science, we reaffirm our commitment to moving beyond intentions and ensuring that every girl has the chance to transform her vision into impact.

CALL FOR PARTNERS | ULEVI SIO DILI – MARA REGION

Alcohol-related harm continues to affect the health, safety, and future of young people and women in Mara Region. Behind every statistic is a story of lost opportunities, broken livelihoods, and communities carrying a heavy burden.
