Do you think trees are important? PLEASE TAKE 2 MINUTES TO READ ON.
Friends, I understand that there are a million opinions about global warming, climate change, and the significance and validity of deforestation across the globe. For sure, a TON of that information is misleading, partisan, and even fraudulent!
If you trust me, then trust this, we are eyewitnesses to vast removal of trees across East Africa for fuelwood, timber, and clearing for Agriculture. As a result, local climate is affected. Watersheds are terribly affected. Overgrazing from domestic animals prohibits seedlings from growing back, and so forests are converted to wastelands. It is true and I watch it every day! This happens on a huge scale in most 3rd World countries - mostly because of a lack of enforcement capability. There is no doubt, the removal of hundreds of millions of trees will impact the climate (to whatever intangible amount, we do not know, but it does). In some cases it is not millions but even billions.
I am sending an appeal and request. We are struggling to maintain our budget to make a difference, and we want to GROW. This year I challenged my staff to grow 40,000 trees rather than 20,000. In faith, we want to grow and plant more than before to reach our goal of 50 million. Our project now has 6 full-time Tanzanian staff with families to feed and school fees to pay. I am a volunteer and so 100% of our funds currently go towards tree planting and maintenance through .
We have one full time sponsor which has been our greatest friend for the past 4 years. They help to cover almost 3/4 of our annual budget, but it is not enough, and they may or may not be able to support us long-term.
Would you like to partner with us? It doesn't take much! And you probably have a carbon footprint to offset (80 trees per year to be exact). Would you like to help be a responsible company / non-profit / individual / agency that can make a difference abroad? We need your help.
Please reach out to me, Jeremy Lowney, through Messenger or email to learn how. We are in this for the long haul. Please share.
