๐The development of EACLGAโs 2026โ2029 Corporate Strategy is progressing steadily. The consultative process to ensure our strategic pillarsโranging from climate resilience to Cross Border Cooperation, etc. โalign with the evolving needs of our region.
At the close of January 2026, a high-level session was concluded with the ๐ฆ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฒ ๐๐ฒ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐ฒ๐๐ผ๐น๐๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ถ๐ป ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ฎ, chaired by Mr. Maurice Ogolla. It was joined by other stakeholders, including the ๐๐ผ๐๐ป๐ฐ๐ถ๐น ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ป๐ผ๐ฟ๐, a member of EACLGA, the ๐๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ฟ-๐๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ป๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ฎ๐น ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐น๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ ๐ง๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ต๐ป๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ผ๐บ๐บ๐ถ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฒ, the S๐๐ฎ๐๐ฒ ๐๐ฒ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐๐, and the ๐ฆ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฒ ๐๐ฒ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐ in charge of border management.
Most recently, on 17th February 2026, we consulted our partners at ๐ฉ๐ก๐ ๐๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ป๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐จ๐ด๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ๐ฎ, as well as the ๐ง๐ผ๐๐ป ๐๐น๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ธ๐ ๐๐๐๐ผ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ผ๐ณ ๐จ๐ด๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ๐ฎ, on the sidelines of their Annual General Meeting, held in Bushenyi on 5th February 2026.
These discussions are vital in refining our focus on:
โ
Cross-Border Integration & Policy Harmonization
โ
Climate Resilience & Sustainable Development
โ
Financial Sustainability for Local Governments
As EACLGA's Secretary General Gertrude Rose Gamwera noted, this strategy isn't just a document; itโs a commitment to bringing governance closer to the people.
We extend our appreciation to all our members and partners who have contributed to this process and to GIZ-AU for supporting it.๐ค
