WHAT WE ARE ALL ABOUT: The Arusha Rugby Development Programme aims to promote rugby as a skilful and valuable sport amongst the most disadvantaged youth of Arusha using the sportsmanship of the game as a vehicle to encourage healthy lifestyles and supportive, positive and respectful relationships within the community. Through high caliber rugby coaching, the Arusha Rugby Development Programme fac
ilitates practical and theoretical sports education to male and female students between the ages of 8 and 19 years across Northern Tanzania. aims to establish an esteemed, high-quality and skilful touch rugby league consisting of local Arusha schools. The program, in conjunction with the Tanzanian Rugby Union and the Arusha Rhinos Rugby Football Club, organises and manages local and international matches. evaluates its educational development plan on a monthly basis, assessing its performance and reviewing how it may improve to accommodate the development of the students’ performance and their social relationships, and continue to expand and grow as a successful and valued sports and community project. The project coaches regularly evaluate their teaching styles and lesson production with an official “A.R.D.P. Bi-Monthly Coaching Review Form,” and actively participate in development plans of their own, as well as sharing their knowledge, experience and coaching skills with the students of the programme. will be conducting training programs in Arusha for coaches and referees throughout the 2012 season. Already several of our students have represented Tanzania in the Nairobi Sevens competition, the U19 Arusha Representative Squad, and the Arusha Rhinos and Buffaloes Squads, which is an accreditation to the quality of our coaching and support system.
