I came to Tanzania as a volunteer teacher, not planning on having my heart stolen and never returned to me again, but that, my friends, is exactly what happened. I have fallen in love with every single student at Cheti School, in Arusha Tanzania. In January, over 80 of the students had their sponsorship dropped. Most of the children in the schools are from families who cannot afford an education f
or their child, and in Africa, education is everything. It is the difference between whether or not you have a chance in life. When I saw that my students were in danger of having to stop their education, I simply could not allow it to happen. I have dedicated myself to find sponsor for my children. At the moment, I am still living here in Tanzania, and don't really have the capabilities to start an actual non-profit, but in May, I will be setting up the actual organization. Right now, all the sponsors are my friends and family who are willing to sponsor because the only way to get the money to the kids is to send it directly to me. But soon, we will have a real non-profit bank account and everything, so please follow us, because we will be growing! The cost to sponsor a child will be approximately $15 a month for Pre-primary students (grade 2 and younger), and $30 a month for Primary students (grade 3 and older). These children are wonderful people who understand how important their education is and do not have the luxury of a free education. They are precious.
