Hey friends!
We are thrilled to announce that we will be returning to Tanzania in 2028! This is a two week group trip - open to anyone who would like to combine volunteering and tourism! The quote of less than $4,000/per person is based on at least 5 people joining us, and does not include airfare. We are so excited and our itinerary is extensive! Today, we donated 5 soccer balls to Oldadai Primary School, a local government school. The rest of the balls are going to his hometown, Korogwe! Today, I met with Theresia Mollel from the Maasai women health organization and FAME Africa and discussed her organization, what she's doing to help her community, and the work she's doing to raise awareness around female ge***al mutilation (FGM). She is Maasai and comes from an area of villages that still practice FGM. FGM is the leading cause of the spread of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases within the Maasai community due to use of dirty instruments. It was absolutely amazing to chat and we very much look forward to working together in the future.

Today, we visited our safe house. Our visit was amazing and we learned so much while we were there. First, we want to commend the safe house for successfully rescuing over 250 female survivors! This is HUGE, and only beneficial to the community the safe house serves. On the other hand, there is so much work that needs completed and goals the staff would like to complete.

The list includes:
- A realistic and workable operating budget
- Recruiting and being able to pay staff (the house mother is currently on volunteer basis.)
- Building a new security fence (right now, its just chain link with barbed wire on top)
- Purchasing a new vehicle for emergency transport to medical care
- Ability to pay for health insurance for girls living in the house
- A realistic, reasonable salary for the house mother
- Solar panels
- Completion of construction of an outdoor kitchen, storage space, dining area and toilets
- Painting the walls
- Renovating the house to accommodate more children
- Purchase of a vehicle for follow up and rescue operations
- Construction of a special school only for survivors
- Construction of a safe house for boys
- Entertainment area for the kids
- Construction of classrooms for skill development

What we were able to give them today (sanitary, first aid and anti-malarial supplies) will only last for so long. We are looking for folks to step up and help! Please contact Lauren, our CEO/Founder, if you're willing or able to help out with any of this list!

And we're off!! We will see you soon, Tanzania, with all of our donation bags in hand! Thank you to EVERYONE who helped us get here and thank you all for your support and love! Delta Air Lines ✈️ was BEYOND kind and waived all of our baggage fees, saving the foundation $1200 👀 Now we can use the money we were planning on using for bags for our anti-malaria 🦟 programming, with the blessing of Greater Salem NH Rotary Club and many others. We can't wait to share pictures and stories with you all!
