Learning Beyond the Classroom on World Environment Day
"Inspired by nature. For Climate. For our Future".

05/06/2026: To mark World Environment Day, students from Endallah and Gidng'ata Primary Schools embarked on an inspiring learning journey to Manyara National Park. Surrounded by nature and wildlife, they explored the importance of healthy ecosystems and discovered how conservation helps protect our planet.
Experiences like these help nurture the next generation of environmental stewards, empowering young people to value and protect nature for years to come.

Today's learners, tomorrow's conservation champions.
We thank Charity Aid Foundation (CAF) for funding this event for our young champions.

Big conservation steps from young leaders

The Student Conservation Club at Kirumba Primary School in Karagwe District has successfully established its very own tree nursery bed.

This incredible initiative was inspired directly by the knowledge and practical skills gained during hands-back environmental education sessions led by club mentor Mgeli Nyabange and James Beebwa.

By turning classroom lessons into real action, these students are proving their commitment to environmental stewardship. This nursery bed is an important first step toward boosting tree planting, restoring local ecosystems, and spreading conservation awareness throughout the school and the wider community

A huge thank you to Partner for Klima and Nature (PKN) for their continued support in empowering the next generation of environmental champions!

Sports meet conservation in Kyerwa
June 2, 2026, Nature Tanzania had the incredible honor of donating a wide range of sports equipment to Kyerwa District Council during the Kyerwa Secondary Schools Sports Competition at Nkwenda Secondary School.

Our donation included:
👕 Football & Netball jerseys
⚽ Footballs, netballs, volleyballs, and handballs

The handover ceremony was officiated by the District Executive Director (DED) SACF. James M. John, alongside district sports officers and teachers, who expressed great appreciation for Nature Tanzania's dedication to youth development and environmental awareness.

By supporting these young athletes, we are not only helping them gear up for the upcoming UMISETA competitions but also inspiring a new generation of environmental and bird conservation champions. We believe that empowering our youth goes hand-in-hand with securing a sustainable future for our planet.

A heartfelt thank you to for their valuable support in making this initiative possible.

Conservation Under the Stars: Film Night Inspires Action in Kigoma

Nature Tanzania, partnering with the Tanzania Wildlife Management Authority (TAWA), recently brought conservation education to life through a Conservation Film Night in Kasisi and Chagu villages, Uvinza.

The event focused on raising awareness for the protection of the Malagarasi-Moyowosi Ramsar Site (MMRS). Through a powerful film case study of a well-managed wetland, local residents and stakeholders learned about the immense benefits of these ecosystems from biodiversity protection and water purification to climate regulation and sustainable community livelihoods.

By bringing ecosystem education to the screen, we sparked community action and strengthened local commitment to long-term environmental management. Long-term success starts when communities lead the way!

The bittersweet reality of ecological fieldwork: celebrating a discovery only to realize it points to a wider environmental issue.

Fieldwork brings the ultimate plot twists!

"During the BiMO training at the Amani Nature Forest Reserve, we spent hours meticulously sorting through leaf litter for Maesopsis eminii. We thought we were doing it wrong until Miss Ruwaida finally struck gold and burst into a joyful laugh! But that celebration quickly gave way to a deeper, sobering realization. Finding Maesopsis leaves wasn't just a win for our sample collection; it was a stark reminder of the invasive Maesopsis tree's impact on the beautiful Eastern Arc Mountains ecosystem".
