Today marks the successful completion of our training on Maasai mother tongue education and storytelling.
Throughout this journey, we have gained valuable knowledge on how to effectively teach the Maasai language (Maa), develop culturally relevant learning materials, and compose diverse traditional and contemporary stories that reflect our community’s identity.
This training has greatly enriched us intellectually and creatively. It has expanded our thinking, strengthened our confidence, and deepened our commitment to promoting multilingual education for children in Maasai communities.
We now strongly believe that through this training, we are nurturing future curriculum developers who can design relevant, inclusive, and culturally grounded learning frameworks for Maasai children. This is not just about storytelling it is about building education systems that respect identity and promote excellence.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Pamela, our dedicated trainer from International Network Development Ltd, for empowering us with knowledge, sharing her expertise, and generously giving her time throughout this training. Your guidance has made a lasting impact on our team and our mission.
At Mulika Afrika, we remain committed to turning this learning into action for the benefit of our communities.
The journey continues and the impact begins now.

Strengthening Mother Tongue Education through Capacity Building
On this International Mother Language Day, we are proud to reflect on a productive and impactful training workshop held today as part of our ongoing commitment to multilingual education for Maasai children.
Today’s session focused on equipping our team and partners with practical skills in developing culturally responsive learning materials, strengthening literacy pathways in Maa, and integrating community knowledge into early education frameworks.
This workshop is not just about curriculum development it is about safeguarding identity, preserving indigenous language, and empowering children with the confidence to learn first in the language they understand best.
By investing in mother tongue based education, we are laying a strong foundation that enables children to thrive academically while remaining rooted in their culture and heritage.
Together, we continue to advance inclusive, community driven education systems that leave no child behind.

Celebrating International Mother Language Day
Today, on International Mother Language Day, we proudly mark a significant milestone as we commence our second workshop focused on developing materials for a multilingual education programme for Maasai children.
Through this initiative, we are designing a structured plan to support children in learning to read and write in Maa their mother tongue while creating culturally relevant stories and learning activities rooted in their everyday experiences.
We believe that strengthening a child’s foundation in their own language builds confidence, identity, and the capacity to engage meaningfully with the wider world.
At Mulika Afrika we remain committed to promoting inclusive education, preserving indigenous languages, and empowering communities through sustainable development initiatives.
