We give a temporary support to the families unti
l the mother is cured and make them able to sustain the families alone by starting or restarting a profitable business. The concept of turning widows into entrepreneurs so they can both feed and educate their children has shown success in other African countries. When they have people who need our help, they inform us. We visit the respective people at the hospital or at their homes and first talk to them in order to understand their situation. In case the mother or father is unable to take care of the children due to illness or because of still being in the hospital, it is our task to look after the children on a daily basis, provide food and what else is needed (e.g. rent, school materials, ...). We pay for the treatment of the parent and when he/she is cured, we want to make sure that he/she is able to sustain her family on her own and can be independent on the project.
