"We are covering the children from the storm of the hurting world"
Every child deserves hope for a better day — a day without hunger, without pain, without neglect or abuse. This Tanzanian-run, non-profit organization runs four centres — in Arusha, Tanzania and — serving hundreds of impoverished children and their extended families, as well as elderly people exiled from their communities, without
forgetting the youth and the poor adults. GOHECHI strives to empower families by educating children and helping their guardians to break the bonds of prostitution, alcoholism and abuse; and to be a guardian to children who have no one because they have been abandoned, orphaned or abused. OUR MISSION:
To educate, and prevent young children from going to the streets, to help their families provide proper care for them and to provide quality services and advocate justice for the destitute elderly. OUR VISION:
To allow disadvantaged children, the youth, the elderly people, the poor and the HIV persons to live decent lives, equipped with a lively hope and a new purpose. OUR STATEMENT:
As wide-reaching organization GOHECHI must be prepared to adjust changing times and situations. The availability of its resources and willingness of its volunteers will shape and determine its accomplishments. To break the chain of poverty by educating and caring for the children of the disabled and destitute so that they must not suffer the same fate as their parents and grandparents. To recognize the social economic and physical difficulties of the disadvantaged children and aged persons and support their effort in order to improve their daily lives. To provide the guidance and practical assistance to parents to help them establish a stable home environment for the eventual return of their children. To mobilize the community to implement human rights.
