The Maasai of Kenya and Tanzania are one of the world's most Iconic indigenous cultures with a unique way of life. Our culture represents strength, a culture of honor, and resilience, staying true to our way of life. The Maasai name and images are used by hundreds of companies to help the brand and revenue of those companies. Since 2009, Light Years IP has joined with the Maasai to build a 7 point

plan of research and IP tools and strategies, and to help the Maasai form this legal entity (MIPI) that now represents the majority of Maasai elders and leaders of all Maasai Districts of Tanzania and Kenya to reclaim the Maasai IP FOR the Maasai, for respect and to assist the Maasai people with sustainable revenue for the Maasai. There are also many high profile African leaders, lawyers, business people and political leaders who support the Maasai, via MIPI (Maasai Intellectual Property Initiative).
