Mama Kambenga, MAF's longstanding partner for over 35 years in Tanzania, led an evangelistis team of ten for a week long visit in Shinyanga. Read the story below:

Mission Aviation Fellowship flew a team of evangelists into a place facing deep spiritual and social challenges. Through door-to-door visits, prayer and baptism, hundreds committed their lives to Christ.

Earlier today, our pilot Roshan Stephen met this little one and his mother in Endanyawish, where they had come to receive vaccinations.
MAF had flown nurses into the community, bringing essential healthcare closer to families who might otherwise struggle to access it. Before leaving, the mother asked if her baby could have a photo with the plane...and Roshan was more than happy to oblige. ❤️✈️
Moments like this remind us why we fly. Serving even the youngest children is something we’re proud to be part of.

MAF returned to Sumbawanga for the first time in more than a decade, carrying two organisations in partnership to teach local nurses how to detect cardio-vascular diseases and manage postpartum bleeding.
Nurses Heart to Heart is an organisation founded by American nurse Anita Rich. They have a heart to equip nurses in the developing world—and were full of hope to serve the people of western Tanzania.
Meanwhile, the Tanzanian non-profit organisation The One New Heart Tanzania have a heart for early detection, awareness training and surgeries for congenital heart defects.
With so much heart, all these two organisations needed was a way to reach those in need.
They initially considered several locations and one of them was Sumbawanga, located in the west of the country. Anita looked at the huge map of Tanzania that hung on the wall as she discussed the possibility of flying in teams from the two organisations with MAF.
MAF staff looked at each other with amazement. MAF had not flown to Sumbawanga for the last 12 years, but this was just the opportunity they’d been waiting for.
Anita laughs when she remembers her call with MAF.
“It still gives me chills. They said this was the connection they’d been waiting for,” said Anita.
“God connects the dots. He uses us to connect those dots. If you think He doesn't care about the people of Sumbawanga, this is one little example that He does.”

On Wednesday, MAF flew nurses and evangelists to Chidudu. These flights happen once a month.
While the clinic is very basic, it’s the one day a month people get to see a doctor. First, the evangelists preach under the tree. Then the babies get weighed and receive their vaccinations. Pregnant women also get their checkups.
The children are just happy. Because kids and planes are best of friends 😊

For the people of Dabia, a remote village in Tanzania, access to healthcare is just one of many challenges.
Thankfully, MAF planes can surmount the vast distance and difficult terrain that isolates Dabia from the nearest health clinic. Once a month, MAF flies a team of doctors to Dabia to conduct clinics and ensure the health and wellbeing of those who attend.
Dabia is around 110km from the closest hospital, in Kilimatinde. Travelling overland would take over eight hours on a dirt road in good weather conditions, but an MAF flight reduces this to an hour.
“There are no health services available. If you get sick, transportation is a challenge - look at the mountains around us!” Elisabeth said, motioning towards the mountain ridges, surrounding her home.
“For any treatment, you must travel to Kilimatinde hospital. For us, that is a real struggle,” she added with deep sadness in her voice.
Carrying her baby in a cloth sling, Elisabeth was ready to make the journey home by foot. “Since MAF started operations here, we have seen good progress. Thanks to MAF’s services, we are doing better,” she said.
Please pray for the doctors and health professionals who travel to remote locations to conduct clinics. Pray for safety and the ability to continue providing this vital service. 💛✈

As the World Cup competition unfolds, nations celebrate victories, endure defeats, and one by one, teams are eliminated.
In the end, only one country will be crowned champion.
At MAF, we play a different kind of game.
Our goal isn’t for one to win while others are left behind. Our mission is to make sure everyone wins; especially those living in the most isolated communities.
This World Cup season, we are reminded that the greatest victory isn’t standing alone at the top, it’s ensuring no one is left behind.

Last week, we flew pastors from Malambo to three remote villages: Lemugur, Loolbilin, and Olemelai. After, we returned to Lemugur, flying in a team of nurses for the monthly medical clinic that serves the community.
Access to healthcare and the hope of the Gospel remain out of reach without MAF.
As the clinic cared for patients, a Maasai pastor we flew in from Malambo shared the good news of Jesus with the mothers waiting to see the nurses. Physical healing and spiritual hope were brought together in one place.

Everyone deserves access to quality healthcare, essential medicines, and the opportunity to hear about Jesus. For communities like these, the airplane is not a luxury; it is what makes both possible.

At MAF in Tanzania, we are privileged to serve communities where Kiswahili helps us communicate, build relationships, and work together. Whether it's a warm "Karibu", or the encouraging words "Pamoja tunaweza" (Together we can), language reminds us that connection begins with understanding.
As we mark World Kiswahili Language Day, we celebrate the beauty of a language that brings people together across cultures and borders.
