COME TO KNOW LIGHTNESS IS A FOUNDER AND DIRECTOR OF LAKE EYASI GIRL’S VOCATION TRAINING CENTER
“A woman who have devoted her life to help an African Woman and child”
LIFE WITH DREAM;
Lightness (a founder of this vision) had a dream to help a woman living in need since she was very young. When she was ten years old in 4th grade her father left the family and never showed up again to date, leaving
her mother, herself and her other 8 siblings alone. Her mother then took all responsibilities as a father and mother of raising nine children on her own. The family started to experience difficulties in life to make all their daily living, this caused her to develop the dream of helping a woman living in need. She is married to Modest Hello Bayo and has three wonderful children Raymond (20), Janet (18) and Ryan (3) at 2014. LIFE OF SERVICE:
In 2009, Lightness discussed with her husband, Modest Bayo, how to provide a better life for the needy and disadvantaged girls from her home village in Lake Eyasi. Some of these girls had dropped out from school following early pregnancy and lost all hope of a brighter future life. Lightness experienced this despair first hand in her own home, while she was growing up. Her older sister had become pregnant before she completed her primary school education and was subsequently abandoned by her partner. In the Lake Eyasi village, under-age school girls becoming pregnant is very alarming since the majority of them and their families have no health education, leaving them vulnerable, and in some cases, alone. Lake Eyasi Girls Vocational Training Center came into operation in 2010 to help the young girls who have dropped from primary and secondary school due to pregnancy and lack of sufficient funds for school fees and uniforms. This non-governmental, not-for-profit organization believes in the principle that educating a woman is equal to educating the society. They are renting the current school building until now we complete the new school and ready open its doors in January 28 /2015.
