Ejo's Volunteer Tanzania by Elizabeth Mwamlima located in Moshono Village, Arusha (Tanzania).
We work with local kids living in poor conditions, many of them are orphans. Our goal is to give them free education so they can be part of the official educational system, grow as people and take advantage of all the opportunities life will present them.
In the other hand, for many kids these is the first time they leave their houses and meet non relatives. A proper socialization with peers and adults is very important, as these kids need to experience a social and educative enviroment. We believe keeping them out of the streets is as important as education.
At the moment we have a group of 90 kids coming to school everyday and 8 teachers taking care of classes (Baby Class, Nursery, pre-unity and class one to four) helped by volunteers. We also provide all our students a small meal, which for some of them it's their only food during the day.
We are in a constant search for volunteers who can assist the teachers and funds needed to buy school material, food . We have open arms for everyone who wants to collaborate with the Foundation and help us give this kids the education and future they deserve.
