Trias’ collaboration with VIKAP started in 2022 with a two-year project on climate change, implemented through cocoa cooperatives in Bundibugyo.
Upon completion of the first project, we built on the experience with another three-year project that started in 2024, targeting both vanilla and cocoa cooperatives.

Last week, project partners , , and were glad to host the VIKAP team during their project monitoring and evaluation mission.
It was an interesting opportunity to see how collaboration among partners, each bringing different areas of expertise, is contributing to results in institutional strengthening of cooperatives, market access and cooperative financing.
As Trias, it was encouraging to see the results of the different tools and approaches we deploy to strengthen member based organisations.

Thank you, VIKAP for the funding support towards such impactful initiatives, and thank you to all our partners for the continued collaboration.

Trias and Food and Forest Development Finland teamed up for a joint capacity building workshop under the REDAA CLEAR program, equipping Member Based Organisations (MBOs) with the skills to measure their carbon footprint using Food & Agriculture Organization of the United Nations Ex-ACT Carbon Estimation tool.

By comparing emissions with and without program interventions, MBOs can now better plan, adjust, and scale their efforts toward greater efficiency and carbon neutrality.

In Baraka Village, Arusha, Tanzania, Cecilia’s story shows how women’s empowerment can transform lives and communities.

After losing her husband and facing severe financial challenges, Cecilia rebuilt her livelihood Under Greener Tanzania Through Climate-Resilient Livelihoods and Land Use Management Project, funded by & through savings and credit training, women’s rights and leadership forums, and support from our partners .w.c_tanzania

Today, she owns 55 livestock, runs a small business, supports her family, and mentors five other women in her community. This is a story of resilience, empowerment, and transformation, helping women build stronger livelihoods while restoring Tanzania’s landscapes.

Trias Tanzania, in partnership with Rikolto in East Africa and Iles de Paix Tanzania , has officially handed over the newly developed Kilombero Market vegetable facility to the Arusha City Council , represented by market leaders.

As part of Program (Include for sustainable development program) funded by Embassy of Belgium in Tanzania , Trias contributed 32 vending stations dedicated to women vendors,creating a safer, cleaner, and more organized marketplace.

The upgraded facility helps boost vendor income, attract more customers, and ensure better food safety and hygiene standards.

This handover reflects our commitment,to the Joint Strategic Framework and to strengthening the Arusha Sustainable Food Systems Platform.

Today, Trias East Africa and our Member Based Organizations (MBOs) in Tanzania marked International Youth Day with a vibrant event in Arusha under the theme “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations.”

Young entrepreneurs and established business owners came together for a day of interaction, mentorship, and celebration recognizing the achievements of youth led businesses and the resilience behind them.

The event also served as a real platform for growth. Entrepreneurs exchanged practical insights, shared lessons from their journeys, and built new networks to support their ventures. Representatives from government institutions and banks also joined, sharing opportunities youth can tap into to grow their businesses and improve their lives.
