We are pleased to commence our partnership with the NRC - Norwegian Refugee Council to Strengthening access to and support for -affected children in Dellami county, South Kordofan, Sudan.

Where learning systems, opportunities, access, dignity, or the future of learners are under threat — whether by conflict, displacement, poverty, inequality, disaster, exclusion, institutional failure, or social collapse, Education in Crisis is present in some of the world’s toughest to reach places where learning is at risk working to protect, restore, strengthen, and transform learning systems where education is disrupted, threatened, or excluded.

EiC believes that wherever learning is threatened, resilient systems and collective action are essential to protect the right to education and future opportunity for all learners. Together, we will help create safer learning opportunities, strengthen community support for , and bring hope to the displaced learners whose learning has been disrupted by crises.

On this day in 1976

For EiC, the day is especially significant because it reminds us that the struggle for education is not over.

Across Africa, atleast there are 100 million children affected by , , , and . This means their dreams hung in uncertainties, they barely know what is the difference between peace and conflicts.

Despite these, they still fight for the same thing the children of Soweto demanded in 1976: the right to learn, the right to be heard, and the right to a better future.

Education in Crisis was born out of a lived displacement experience, supported by people closest to the understanding of the value of a and is present in Africa's hardest to reach places rebuilding education systems and transforming learning everywhere.

It's on this day we launch campaign as we continue to mobilize for education each committing by 2029.

Today, on the , we reflect on every child's right to learn, imagine, explore, and simply be a child even in the most difficult contexts around the world.

For millions in and affected by conflict, displacement and crisis, play is more than recreation—it is protection, healing, learning, resilience, and dreaming. Through play, children rebuild confidence, develop social and emotional skills, recover from stress and trauma, and reconnect with a sense of normalcy and future.

At Education in Crisis, we believe that safe spaces for play are essential spaces for learning. As we work to protect and strengthen learning opportunities in crisis-affected communities, we reaffirm our commitment to ensuring that every girl and boy has the opportunity not only to learn, but also to play, thrive, and dream.

Because every child deserves a future filled with learning, laughter, and hope.
