On this Labor Day, Education In Crisis (EiC) honors the resilience, dignity, and determination of workers everywhere especially those in crisis-affected communities.

We recognize that access to quality education is deeply connected to the future of work. When young people are denied the opportunity to learn, entire generations are excluded from meaningful employment and economic participation.

At EiC, we remain committed to ensuring that every learner, regardless of circumstance, has the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to build sustainable livelihoods.

Today, we celebrate not only the contributions of workers, but also the transformative power of education in shaping a more equitable and productive future.

Three years of war in Sudan.

A generation of children growing up without stable access to education. Dreams completely shattered and a future put on hold

What is often described as numbers is lived daily by more than 14 million, the world's largest displacement, disrupted learning, and systems that can no longer function as they once did.

Yet across Sudan, communities continue to hold on. Teachers continue to teach. Learning continues, even in the most difficult conditions including under rakubas (local shelters) because goodwill people around the world support EiC's work to be present even in the most fragile contexts in the world.

At EiC, we focus on strengthening those efforts—supporting teachers and rebuilding the foundations of education where they have collapsed. Read full statement here: https://eduincrisis.org/2026/04/15/three-years-of-war-in-sudan/
