It’s that time of the year when we come together with some of our key stakeholders “Stakeholders Meeting”, including Heads of Schools and local government authorities, to share updates on our programs, reflect on the impact achieved so far, and recognize how their contributions have helped transform girls’ education through our programs.
These meetings provide an opportunity to celebrate achievements, discuss challenges, and deepen our understanding of the power of collaboration in supporting girls’ education. They also serve as a platform for meaningful discussions on what has worked well and what we can collectively do to better support scholars in our programs.

What a journey! From a Binti Scholar to a Kisa Scholar and now a confident student leader. Her advice to others: practice makes perfect. With determination, confidence, and a willingness to learn, she is leading by example.

Annual Parents Engagement Meetings are happening, and as always, these meetings have been very helpful in collaborating with Binti parents to create supportive environments for girls’ education. Parents get to learn more about GLAMI, best parenting practices, and discuss the challenges their daughters face and the way forward.
Collaborating with parents is one of the ways we ensure that girls are fully supported in reaching their goals. It also helps in transforming harmful cultural practices that hinder girls’ progress and ability to thrive.

Providing and supporting access to menstrual items such as sanitary towels is essential in helping girls manage their periods with dignity, confidence, and without disruption to their education. A period-friendly world means a world that is supportive and inclusive of girls and women during their periods, where they can live, learn, and thrive without stigma or barriers.

This Menstrual Hygiene Day, GLAMI continues to envision a period-friendly world where every girl in our programs has access to the resources, support, and safe environment she needs to manage her period confidently and without shame. We believe that when girls feel confident during their periods, they are more likely to stay in school, participate fully in their communities, and create positive change.
