THE FLYING DOCTORS
The Flying Doctors Society of Africa has been in existence for over 40 years, and is a non-profit making organization which raises funds to help finance the spread of Medical Outreach in Africa has its headquarters in Nairobi, with offices in Dar es Salaam and Arusha. We offer a membership scheme whose key benefit is free emergency medical evacuation services. We have two types of membership; Annual membership and short term membership; which is for either 14 days or two months. Our membership is open to all. Whatever surplus of the membership subscription fees has been directed towards spreading medical outreach in Africa. Our project this year has been focused on Vesico Va**na Fistula (VVF) operations, a problem caused by prolonged obstructed labor. In Tanzania we have been funding the Muhimbili Outreach programme which flies out specialist Doctors from Muhimbili Hospital to treat the less fortunate in rural areas and also train medical staff in those areas
