A scholar in the making; and a future still unfolding🙌.

In this series, we are are spotlighting the dreams our students carry with them every day, and the support systems helping them stay connected to those futures.

Today’s focus is on menstrual hygiene management and girls’ education.

For many girls, menstruation-related challenges continue to affect confidence, comfort, and school attendance. Through improved sanitation facilities and access to menstrual hygiene support, more girls are able to stay present in class, participate confidently, and continue learning with dignity.

Because every girl deserves the chance to pursue her education without interruption.

Mother figures come in many forms, and their impact reaches further than they may ever realize.

In schools and communities we work with, we meet women who nurture, guide, encourage, protect, and create spaces where children can thrive.

From mothers at home to teachers in classrooms and cooks preparing daily meals, their care becomes part of a child’s journey long before success is ever visible.

Today, we celebrate all the women shaping futures through care, consistency, and compassion.

Confidence shouldn’t depend on access to a toilet, but for many students, it does.

At Nduruma Primary School, improved sanitation facilities are changing daily life for 570+ students, especially girls.

Access to clean, safe, and private toilets means fewer missed school days, better focus in class, and a more dignified learning environment.

Because when students no longer have to worry about basic needs, they can show up fully, and learn.

A safe toilet is more powerful than we often realize.

At Umoja Primary School, improved sanitation facilities are already changing what school feels like for 530+ students thus making it safer, healthier, and more dignified.

Students now have access to clean, private spaces that support their well-being, reduce health risks, and allow them to stay focused on learning without disruption.
Because when basic needs are met, everything else becomes possible.
