VALENTINE DAY, A DAY OF LOVE OR LUST
For the past four years I have been posting just tweets on Valentine’s Day and season on my Twitter account (X), then on my Facebook account, pages and groups and on mainly my WhatsApp groups. But this year 2025, I thought it better to write a post about it to make it orderly and easily accessible because there are many people who are not on Twitter (X).
I will try to answer the following questions and add any other related thing later in this article. Who is Saint Valentine? What is the meaning of Valentine Day? Who should celebrate this day? How to celebrate it? Are gifts necessary? What gifts should be shared? Who deservers gifts? How to determine the value of gifts? And is outing okay?
We know that there are many types of love. Others put it at twelve, others eight, and others seven. Here we shall summarise it or restrict ourselves to two love types. Good love and bad love. Good love which includes Agape love for soul, universal or spiritual love, Philia or sincere and platonic love or brotherly and sisterly love, pragma or everlasting committed marital love between married couple and Storge or love between parents and their children. Whereas the bad love are philautia which creates narcissists and erotic or lustful love. Valentine day was originally a day to celebrate good love particularly pragma.
Who is Saint Valentine? Different accounts were put forward to shed light onto him and the most acceptable was that, Saint Valentine was a Catholic priest or bishop of Terni, Narnia and Amelia. He was arrested by judge Asterious during the third century Christian persecutions in Rome. He was released when the judge tested his faith in Jesus by healing his blind daughter. He was again arrested for continuing to convert people to Christianity by baptising them and marrying couples which was by then a capital offense. He became friendly with Emperor Claudius II but when he tried to convert the emperor to Christianity, he became enraged and commanded Saint Valentine to renounce his faith or be beaten with clubs and beheaded. St. Valentine refused to renounce his faith and Christianity and was executed outside the Flaminian gate on February 14, 269.
Since then the Catholic Church put aside February 14 as a day to commemorate the death and works of Saint Valentine who become the patron saint of Love, Young People and Happy Marriages. Because Saint Valentine was martyred, his blood was poured hence the red colour and red roses were incorporated in his feast with the heart signifying love.
So, who should celebrate this day and how should they celebrate it? Anyone can celebrate it. A son or daughter can use it to celebrate their parents- storge and vice versa. A brother and sister can celebrate their agape love for one another. Friends can celebrate it in philia or agape. However, this day is mainly for the opposite s*x relationships leading to marriage and marriage. That is, those who are dating or in courtship or engaged or married. Unfortunately with the perversion today, this day is misused by those in erotic, lustful and sinful relationships such as s*xual lovers or those who fornicate, boyfriends and girlfriends heathens. And remember, sinful people are always the loudest or as they say, empty tins are the loudest.
Let us now talk about gifts. Are gifts necessary? Who deservers gifts? What gifts should be shared? How to determine the value of gifts? As I stated above those who are supposed to celebrate this day are mainly people in heteros*xual relationships which are leading to marriage if they are not yet married, and not those in casual or s*xual relationships. But due the immorality and over s*xualisation in the world, those in lustful and s*xual relationships have overshadowed this day. Yes, those in relationships leading to marriage or those who are married can send gifts to one another. Although from the marriage process, those in initial searching and attraction stages, I strongly discourage gifts. Maybe in the third bonding stage you may buy some few gifts. In brief, you do not send any gift to any date whom you did not meet physically and after the meeting atleast a month has elapsed.
Note before, you must confirm that someone is really dating you verbally and in their actions. Of course such a date should be ready for marriage, meaning for men they are thirty plus in age, working or doing business or both, abstained for atleast a year or better three years from s*xual in*******se etc. And for the lady, she should be twenty five years and above or worse twenty three plus. Working or doing business or both, has abstained from s*xual in*******se for atleast a year or better three years etc. You can read more in my two articles about being ready for marriage. Therefore, your date and preferably those you are in courtship and engaged to deserve to receive some gifts from you. Ladies are we together here? Most of you are very stingy, be the first to surprise your date or fiancé or husband with desirable gifts!
So, what gifts should be shared? During your dating or marriage interview, you get to know the likes, dislikes, hobbies and activities of your prospect. From there is where you get what gifts to buy him or her. Among the common gifts for men are electronic gadgets, if he has a car, car accessories, those who like books, buy them hard copies of their favourite books or of mentors, clothes, shoes etc. For women among the common items are a new phone, clothes, jewellery, books, industrious ladies may need little support with their ventures like a new sewing machine or microphone for her YouTube channel etc.
How do you determine the value of the gift? This is where most men especially simps and beta males go wrong. Be warned ladies, Alpha and Sigma males also may seem to go wrong here but they might be targeting something which in most cases is sleeping with the lady if they spend over 30% of their salaries or if they spend over 50% equivalent of the lady’s salary. Be cautious ladies, there is no free lunch. If they already slept with you and spend such huge amounts of money on you, they may be after your fortunes or destiny. They must be tapping into your star.
For example, a man who barely makes ends meet and without an iPhone or who uses a cheap Huawei Smartphone whose parents can hardly pay rent or are in the village buying a lady an iPhone 15, or a car or a plot of land as a gift. Such gifts should be considered very suspicious and if you are a lady of integrity and value, let him explain his source of income before you accept such extravagant gift or gifts and vice versa. Now men listen, if last year you bought for her a gift and she did not buy for you, this year don’t buy for her until she buys for you one. Remember to also buy a gift which is relative to what they bought for you according to your finances. If you bought for her last year iPhone 14 and she bought for you socks, this year buy for her also women socks or cheap head wrappers.
What about going out on Valentine’s Day? Sure, if you guys are ready for marriage and are dating or married, it is a good thing to go out that day. But you as a lady when dating such a guy, you must take maximum precautions else you may end up losing your secondary and primary virginity carelessly or through r**e or worse your life may end, if especially you have not known him physically for atleast three months. If you as a lady have never met him before and Valentine day is your first physical meeting, you must be extremely careful. Most importantly have your own physical money to transport you to and fro the venue, have your own transport or know how to order one from the venue home or to your hotel, know the venue well or if it is your first time in that venue, get there in time to know how to get out if things do not go as planned. And if you are lodging there, be able to pay your hotel and so on. You can get more ideas from my article about r**e on our pages and groups. Precaution is better than cure.
To boil down, every Valentine’s season is where many love scammers come up. Claiming to be purely interested in dating you for marriage yet they just want to sleep with you or use you or scam your money. Do not be manipulated, “no one is broke or poor to gift, if you really love me, buy for me a new Smartphone or an iPhone 13/14/15, prove that you love me by sending me some money or paying my rent or school fees” etc. These are some of the manipulative and softening words which especially female gold diggers and their recruits use to soften the hearts of mainly simps and beta males to waste their hard earned money on them. Such girls or ladies are bad mannered, avoid them. Gifts should come naturally if someone really loves you. If you cannot buy for him a Valentine gift, then do not ask for one. No one should be coerced to buy another a gift. Such insistence of them especially ladies asking men to buy them gifts is the answer that it is not love in their heart for you, but lust or looking for financial rescue. Do not be a mumu (fool) this season.
