Our Medical Volunteering & Internship Program welcomes pre-med students, medical students, dental students, healthcare professionals, and anyone seeking hands-on clinical experience while immersing themselves in a new healthcare system and culture.

Working alongside experienced local healthcare teams, participants gain invaluable practical exposure, broaden their clinical knowledge, and experience the richness of cultural exchange. At the same time, their contribution helps strengthen local healthcare services by providing much-needed extra hands and expanding access to treatment for patients who might otherwise be unable to afford the care they need.

The experience doesn’t end when your shift does. During weekends and days off, participants have the opportunity to discover the beauty of Tanzania—from unforgettable wildlife safaris and the pristine beaches of Zanzibar to cultural tours, waterfalls, coffee farms, and even Mount Kilimanjaro. It’s the perfect balance of professional growth, adventure, and cultural immersion.

Whether you’re completing an elective, internship, or volunteering abroad, you’ll leave with more than just experience—you’ll leave with new perspectives, lifelong connections, and memories that will stay with you for a lifetime.

Every child deserves to be seen, cared for, and thrive.❤️

Imagine being a parent who loves your child with all your heart, but every morning you have to choose between staying home to care for them or going out to earn enough money to feed your family.

For dozens of families in Daraja Mbili Ward, Arusha, this is not a choice—it’s their daily reality.

At SAFE HOME FOR CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES (SCDI), we are helping change that.

Every day, children with cerebral palsy, autism, blindness, deafness, paralysis, albinism, and other disabilities are welcomed into a safe and caring environment where they receive attention, meals, hygiene support, play, and companionship. While the children are safe and cared for, their parents and guardians have something many of us take for granted: the chance to work, provide for their families, and return home knowing their children have spent the day surrounded by love and care.

In our ward alone, there are 77 children with disabilities from more than 40 families, many living in extreme poverty. Their challenges are significant, but so is their potential when a community stands beside them.
This is where you can make a difference.

Whether you can volunteer for a few weeks or support from afar, your contribution creates real change.

We are looking for:

🧸 Toys, games, and educational materials
🦽 Wheelchairs and mobility aids
🧼 Diapers, hygiene products, and cleaning supplies
🍚 Food and nutritional support
🚐 Donations to help with transport and healthcare expenses

No act of kindness is too small. A few hours of your time, a donated wheelchair, a box of diapers, or a shared meal can ease the burden on a family and open new possibilities for a child.

Our projects focus on community infrastructure that serves those who need it most—from orphanages and daycare centers to our Safe House for vulnerable children.

For students, especially those coming as a group, this is more than volunteering. It’s an opportunity to gain practical experience that complements their academic studies while working on meaningful, real-world projects.

Hosting friends from France has always been a pleasure, and this visit is especially meaningful.

I’m honored to be with Ombeline, founder of , whose dedication to human rights continues to create real impact. Through exchange and integration programs between Tanzania 🇹🇿 and France 🇫🇷, law students gain the opportunity to work alongside local organizations, experiencing firsthand the challenges and opportunities within our communities.

These programs help educate and raise awareness about human rights, equality, inclusion, and the importance of ensuring that every person—regardless of gender or background—has equal opportunities to thrive.
