枋南社區，原名崩溝寮，因緊臨把育溝而得名 ， 土地的開墾約在清雍正年間，聚落的形成約有兩百年歷史，以鍾姓族人最早遷入，也是本社區比率最多的族群，祖先多來自福建詔安縣，故中年以上者都能操詔安客語。
本社區距省道台十九線約一公里，距崙背街上兩公里，縣道雲十七雲十八線經過，交通便利；水道有修過，於雍正年間的把育溝 (現屬施厝寮大排系統)，嘉南大圳支流經過，灌溉排水良好，故農業發達。
