The Asian Bird Fair (ABF) is an annual event created to highlight the different bird fairs in Asia, to promote the protection of birds and their habitats, encourage birdwatching and other ecotourism activities. The Asian Bird Fair (ABF) was initiated by 3 passionate birdwatchers, Michael Lu (Philippines), Victor Yu (Taiwan) and Andrew Sebastian (Malaysia). They are the Executive Committee and foun
ders of the ABF Network. Their idea was supported and endorsed by 6 founding organizations and took turns in hosting the ABF starting with the Wild Bird Club of the Philippines (Davao, 2010), Chinese Wild Bird Federation (Tainan, 2011), Bird Conservation Society, Thailand (Bangpoo, 2012), The Wild Bird Society of Taipei (Taipei, 2013) , The Malaysian Nature Society (Langkawi, 2014) and Nature Society of Singapore (Singapore, 2015). The 7th ABF will be hosted by Cuncaoxin in the city of Jingshan, Hubei, China in November 11-15 , 2016. The 8th ABF, 2017 has been awarded to Taehwa River Ecotourism, Ulsan, South Korea and will be held in Feb. 24-28, 2017.
