我國儀隊發展，始於民國46年國防部成立三軍儀隊。民國50年代，高中職學校開始發展學生儀隊。民國80年代，民間喜慶婚喪表演團體，開始籌組儀隊表演型態。軍儀、學儀和民儀，是國內儀隊組成的主要三種型態。因各自環境與任務需求不同，促使國內儀隊表演型態與論述呈多元發展。本會於民國99年7月3日成立，致力於校園與民間的儀隊推廣。
