Today, September 28, is the birthday of Confucius, the Sage of Sages (孔夫子 551 BC - 479 BC).
A philosopher and statesman of the Spring and Autumn period, he is honored as the first teacher of China. His teachings on ethics, morality and human relationships became the foundation of East Asian culture and society, and still the most influential philosophy in China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea and beyond.
September 28 is celebrated as Teacher's Day and today we bow in respect and gratitude to all our teachers, past and present, for their knowledge and guidance.
A special thought to my Dad, my first teacher, and to those who guided me and shaped the man I have become. And gratitude to my students: without you, I would never be called a teacher.
You all have my eternal gratitude.
Happy Teacher's Day!

According to FBI LEOKA data (Law Enforcement Officers Killed and Assaulted), 1 in 12 officers murdered in the line of duty are killed with their own service weapon. That is what is infamously known as the 8% Rule.
Most gun disarms happen within 0-5 feet during a struggle, an arrest, a search, or a ground fight.
This is the contact zone where an attacker can reach your holster, grab your sling, or wrestle for control before you can create distance.
Learning weapons retention isn't optional. It's critical. This is what will keep you and your partners safe.

The baton is too often misused as a striking tool.
A strike won’t stop a determined attacker from closing the distance.
The baton is a control tool.
Use it for joint locks, leverage, and pressure-point control.
It’s most effective against edged-weapon attacks, or when the other person is also armed with a baton.
Train to use it properly.
Don’t let it be just decoration on your belt.
