地理位置
會稽地區為桃市東境，南崁溪接小檜溪(即東門溪) 一線以東均是，有山有水是本市最富地形美之區。包括大檜溪、小檜溪和水汴頭三大莊。1879年(光緒５年）台灣輿圖稱南崁溪地區為「大過溪」，東門溪稱「小過溪」，因福佬話「過」與「檜」同音，以訛傳訛而為大檜溪、小檜溪，民國後將現今會稽、春日、大興、寶山、大有、忠義等里區統稱為「會稽」。 水汴頭位於虎頭山邊崖地北端，清初在此引南崁溪灌溉，分設水閘門調節，稱之。現今有中油煉油廠、鹽務局(有鹽庫街、鹽庫西街) 、菸酒公賣局大倉庫先後設於此地。
