On 6 June 2025, in collaboration with Lions Club of Penang Queen, we launched the “Bringing Love into the Forest 把爱带进森林” initiative at Grik, Tasik Temenggor, Hulu Perak.
Led by OC President Teoh Shaw Jhee, this humanitarian effort raised a total of RM 60,000 to support the Orang Asli community through two transformative projects: constructing sanitation facilities and laying the foundation for a school. Serving over 15,000 people annually, these initiatives align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a targeted completion date of Q4 2025.
With RM 10,000 raised, we constructed three proper toilets to address critical hygiene needs for the Orang Asli community. This project enhances health, reduces risks, and restores dignity, particularly for women and children, by providing safe and clean sanitation facilities. Supporting SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) and SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), these toilets will benefit over 15,000 individuals each year, significantly improving community well-being, and marking a vital step toward sustainable sanitation access.
Another important occasion is the break ground on a “School of Hope” for Orang Asli children, fostering dreams and opportunities through education. This project cost around RM50,000. This initiative, supporting SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), goes beyond building physical infrastructure; it creates pathways to a brighter future for over 15,000 people annually. By empowering the next generation, we are promoting equality and dignity. With completion targeted for Q4 2025, this school will be a cornerstone for long-term community development.
We express the greatest gratitude to all sponsors and volunteers who have contributed their best for this meaningful and successful project. Together, we can serve for a better world.
