🎶 Meeting Highlights: When Words Fail, Music Speaks! 🎤✨

Music is a universal symbol of joy—everyone has their own favorite singers, nostalgic melodies, and songs that reveal our generation while connecting our hearts.

Here’s a recap of the musical magic from our 254th regular meeting:

🎵 Toastmaster of the Evening (TME) – David Liao, DTM

David led the evening around the joyful theme of "Songs," reminding us how music bridges generations, sparks memories, and instantly brings people together.

🎬 Variety Session – Lidia Tseng, DTM

Lidia engaged everyone with interactive song trivia! Which movie soundtrack instantly brings vivid scenes to mind? Definitely See You Again from Fast & Furious! And the most catchy, brainwashing drinking anthem right now? Hands down, Bruno Mars & ROSÉ’s APT.!

🗣️ Prepared Speeches
Speaker 1 – Patsy Wu (PM L1P3: Reset): Delivered her speech with contest-level finesse, poise, and effortless confidence. A masterclass on stage!
Speaker 2 – Wayne Lin (PM L4P2: The Art of Project Leadership and Public Relations): Shared fascinating insights on leadership with great passion, demonstrating what it truly means to lead by example.
🎲 Table Topics Master (TTM) – Eddie Lin

Eddie crafted tailored questions for each speaker, taking all of us on a delightful nostalgic trip through iconic hits across different musical eras.

🔍 Evaluation Session
General Evaluator (GE) – Steven Liu: Masterfully orchestrated the evaluation segment.
Language Evaluator – Ron Chen, DTM: Delivered sharp, concise, and insightful feedback to help everyone level up their English.
Individual Evaluator – Qian Hsiao: Stepped up for her first-ever IE role and delivered a fantastic, well-structured evaluation!
Thanks to the power of music and inspiring speeches, our Toastmasters evening was filled with laughter, melody, and pure joy. See you all at our next meeting! 🥂✨

🌟 Pega Pega TMC Meeting Recap – August 4, 2026
What a wonderful and refreshing night!

🍹 Refreshing Summer Vibe

Our Toastmaster of the Evening (TME), Shana, brought us such a cool and refreshing theme! Everyone shared their favorite ways to beat the summer heat—from watermelon juice and Mojitos to Mina’s delicious recommendation of bubble tea with herbal jelly. Isn't that the ultimate summer treat?

👏 Special Thanks to Our Helpers & Guests

A huge shoutout to Joanne for serving as our Timer and bringing along her colleague from the Czech Republic! We were also honored to have Peter, our Area Director, who traveled 1.5 hours all the way from Daxi to support us as Ah-Counter. Also, a big thanks to Chloe, who David met at the incredible ASUS(IA), for inviting the Variety Session Master to lead a fun guessing game that everyone thoroughly enjoyed!

🎤 Prepared Speeches

Both of our speakers delivered their second project speeches:
Steven showed us that he is not only a busy manager but also a loving father, reminding us that "Listening is Love."
Qian guided us on how to achieve our New Year’s resolutions using Atomic Habits.

💡 Insightful Evaluations

Our Individual Evaluators brought immense value:
Bryian, back after a while, delivered an energetic and sharp evaluation as always!
Lidia shared a great tip for overcoming stage fright or memory slips: don't memorize scripts word-for-word. Instead, capture the key ideas using the Atomic Habits framework: EASY = Easy + Attractive + Satisfying + Your System.

🌵 Language Evaluation & Hilarious Wrap-up

Language Evaluator David introduced interesting cooling treats like cactus ice cream and Czech Kofola.

Finally, Lidia ended the night with a hilarious dad joke for our Czech friend who is learning Chinese:
"Which is worse: physical infidelity or mental infidelity?"
He answered thoughtfully, "Mental infidelity..."
Lidia replied, "Nope, it's a train derailment!" (A Chinese pun on "出軌" - derailment/infidelity!)

What an unforgettable, wonderful night! Thank you all for making it happen! ✨

Yesterday’s meeting was all about "Leisure & Recreation," reminding us how essential it is to unplug, get moving, and recharge after a busy week of work!
Theme & Opening: We kicked off the evening talking about how we balance work and life through outdoor activities. Whether it's hiking Taiwan's Top 100 Peaks, catching a movie, or listening to music, finding time for recreation keeps us energized.
Prepared Speeches: Cindy shared vital survival tips on "What to Do If You Encounter a Bear?"—a must-know for all hiking enthusiasts! David then took us in another direction with "Green Your House," showing how to bring nature into our homes.
Variety Session (Kahoot!): A big shoutout to Laura for hosting an super fun Kahoot game! She tested our sports trivia with a variety of sports guessing games. Even though we were a intimate group of 8 yesterday, the energy was high and everyone had a blast competing!
Thank you to everyone who joined, spoke, and helped out to make last night so memorable. See you all at the next meeting!

Our TME, David, took us on a culinary journey to explore all kinds of 'go-to places,' all while doubling as our President!

Kenny showed us how to input the right prompts to generate hilarious images, reminding us how crucial it is to ask the right questions.

Speaker Lidia introduced the 5 skills of an AI agent acting as a boss's proxy. Among them, she inserted humor by asking the audience: 'Do you know what song engineers hate the most? Rose, Rose, I Love You.' Because in Taiwanese, 'Rose' (Mê-kuì) sounds exactly like 'Failed' (Mê-kuì/Bē-kuì)!
Speaker Cindy warned us not to run when encountering a bear to avoid becoming prey, though running is definitely human nature!
Our TTM, Lidia, brought us plenty of fun, tailor-made topics for our members. Who knew Ling's cat doesn't care for eggs but absolutely loves pineapples?

Ken, pulling double duty as both GE and IE, mentioned it had been 7 years since he last attended a PEGA meeting, yet he mastered two roles at once!
IE Ling encouraged the speaker from an expat's perspective, saying that even if you speak Taiwanese, just express yourself naturally; the audience can catch your drift through your facial expressions and body language.

LE Wayne, acting like an AI agent himself, wrapped up the meeting by using AI to quickly generate a presentation summarizing everything we learned tonight.
Tonight, everyone who stepped up to support was as delightful and appetizing as gourmet food!
