This night began the way Trouble things usually do—by accident. Bengisu met Bess in Hong Kong; they made an exhibition and became friends. Bess was already close with Tracy. Then Jeremy just “happened” to visit Trouble, dropped the idea of poetry, and suddenly Taipei Poetry Collective joined in. A strange chain of coincidences unfolded into a whole evening.
Bess opened with a cello recital and her own composition inspired by the idea of Trouble, then moved into improvisations on Tracy’s prose and poetry, threading a path where memory and sound could safely pass. The night closed with Taipei Poetry Collective’s Open Mic, where audience members shared poems, played music, and filled the room with unexpected connections.
It was more than a performance: it was a night of reflecting and sharing Trouble through art. Different art forms, and different friendship stories, intertwined into something new.
