3/13, I went to the Eid al-Fitr celebration at Daan Park with my migrant worker friends. During our ride to the venue via MRT, we talked about our Ramadan experience. While many people in Taiwan like me fear that they would faint from fasting, my friends just joked that they have been doing this since they were kids! That kind of genuine worry from the Taiwanese is honestly so sweet.
The venue of the celebration at Daan Park is literally another country! There were many people donning their traditional attire. We ordered some Indonesian bentos and desserts, and we just hung around at the venue near the stage, enjoying the music and laughter. Total bliss.
It is through Imigo that I learned how much Taiwan needs these friends. Usually, we are the ones who guide our migrant worker friends through our world; yesterday, I experienced their world. What a meaningful experience!
Definitely bringing a bigger crew next year!
