🎉 Happy World Play Day! 🌍

Today, the International Toy Library Association (ITLA) proudly celebrates World Play Day and honors the long history of toy libraries, toy librarians, play advocates, educators, families, and communities who have defended the right to play for decades.

Since the early 2000s — and even long before international recognition — toy libraries and national movements across the world have worked tirelessly to build spaces of peace, inclusion, creativity, dignity, and freedom through play. This journey has never been simple, but together we continue moving forward, convinced that play has the power to connect people, strengthen communities, and create more inclusive societies.

On this World Play Day, we celebrate not only play itself, but also all those who continue every day to make the world more human through play.

🎉 Day 12 to World Play Day – May 28! 🎉

the countdown is on… and play is bringing us together 🌍✨

In just 12 days, we will celebrate World Play Day (WPD) — a global opportunity to recognize play as a powerful tool for inclusion, participation, well-being, and social connection.

At a time when many communities face isolation, discrimination, conflict, or social division, play reminds us of something essential: everyone deserves a place to belong, express themselves, and be heard.

Play creates bridges between generations, cultures, abilities, and experiences. It opens spaces where children, families, seniors, and communities can meet beyond differences and rebuild trust, empathy, and cooperation.

Whether you are a toy library, educator, volunteer, association, institution, or play advocate, this is your moment to act for inclusion through play!

👉 How will you celebrate World Play Day?

👉 What actions are you creating to make play accessible to everyone?
