​For our May session, we gathered for a delicious vegetarian meal and were honored to have Prof. Wang join us.
​"Meeting each other is rare, like the stars Shen and Shang that never cross paths."
Through Du Fu’s classic lines, the professor illuminated the themes of longing and distance. He also shared his stunning astrophotography, blending technical insights with deep personal passion for the cosmos.

2026.05.08 ｜ 中文班．書法
藝術的最高境界，往往不止於外在的技藝，而在於內在的覺照。
書法亦是如此。它不只是筆法的學習，更是一段由內而外的修煉；在一筆一畫之間，學習沉澱心性、安定自己，這也正是書法的可貴之處。
書法不只是把字寫好，更是「觀字，如見其人」。
筆尖下的輕重緩急、濃淡乾濕，宛如音樂中的旋律起伏，也映照著一個人當下最真實的心境。當我們靜下心提筆，亦是在喧囂紛擾之中，為自己留下一方安靜與從容。
感謝今日這場與筆墨的相遇，在墨香中學會留白，在字裡行間感受寧靜。

2026.05.08 ｜ Chinese Class · Calligraphy

The highest realm of art often lies not only in outward technique, but in inner awareness and reflection.
Calligraphy is no exception. It is not merely the practice of brushwork, but a journey of cultivation from the inside out. Through every stroke, we learn to settle the mind and find inner steadiness — perhaps this is what makes calligraphy truly meaningful.

Calligraphy is not simply about writing beautifully; as the saying goes, “one’s handwriting reflects one’s character.”
The rhythm of each stroke — its weight, pace, darkness, and dryness — resembles the flow of music, quietly revealing one’s truest state of mind. To pick up the brush with stillness is also to carve out a space of calm and composure amidst the noise of everyday life.

Grateful for today’s encounter with brush and ink, where we learned the beauty of leaving space within the fragrance of ink and discovered tranquility between the lines.

04/24 中華美食DIY（芋圓、蔬菜盒子）
這週的中文班，我們體驗親手製作傳統美食的過程！

咬下餡餅，嘴裡雜糅著油酥、餡料瓁著麵香，過往的陣陣炊煙儼然重新回到眼前。
在芋圓糰裡，我們把食物模印成可愛小花、捏成想要的模樣，傳統食物於是在新的想法與雙手裡重新煥發新生。

In this week‘s Chinese class, we experienced the process of making traditional foods by hand.
Taking a bite of the savory pastry, the flaky crust, rich filling, and the aroma of the dough came together in layers, evoking a sense of warmth and familiarity rooted in everyday life.
While making taro balls, we shaped the dough into small flowers and formed it into patterns of our own design. Through our hands and imagination, traditional foods took on new forms and came to life again.

不同的文化都有取名的巧思，而東方文化更將「天干」、「地支」與「五行」巧妙結合。透過元素間相生相剋的關係，長輩們為新生命譜出了充滿祝福的藍圖。

在科技發達的現代，我們或許忽略了這份傳統的浪漫情懷；但其實，每一聲對名字的呼喚，都承載著深厚的文化價值與無限希望。

In our upcoming Chinese class, we will guide you through "The Art of Eastern Naming"!

While different cultures have their unique approaches to naming, Eastern traditions beautifully weave together the Heavenly Stems, Earthly Branches, and the Five Elements. By harmonizing the generative and restrictive forces of these elements, previous generations crafted a blueprint of blessings for every new life.

In today’s tech-driven society, we may sometimes forget this traditional romantic sentiment. However, every time a name is spoken, it resonates with deep cultural heritage and infinite hope.

🌿 International Student Welcome Tea Gathering

For the 114-2 semester (2026 Spring), Chongde Volunteer Club is hosting an International Welcome Tea Gathering, and we’d love to invite you to join us. The event will take place on March 4 at 7:30 PM.
This is more than just a casual gathering. We’ve prepared specially designed cultural content, where you’ll be introduced to different flowers and their meanings in our culture. You will learn how these flowers are appreciated, what they symbolize, and how they are connected to everyday life.
At the same time, it’s a relaxed and friendly space to connect with others, experience cultural exchange, and learn more about vegetarian cooking and traditional culture. Whether you’re new to Taiwan or have been here for a while, everyone is welcome.
Come enjoy tea, snacks, meaningful conversations, and a deeper understanding of the culture around you. ;)

「指南櫻緣・貓空茶敘」迎新踏春出遊🌸

開學之初，社團的年度第一次出遊來囉！
我們將沿著指南宮公車站往上走，按地圖順序體驗手水舍、結緣庭、賞花庭，駐足幸福庭敲鐘，在圓滿庭邂逅漫天櫻花。

而後搭乘貓空纜車前往貓空，在賞景與茶敘中與身邊的志工夥伴熟悉☁️

At the start of the semester, we’re kicking off our first outing of the year!
We’ll begin at Zhinan Temple (指南宮), strolling along a scenic path and exploring different spots along the way—pausing to enjoy the surroundings, ring a bell for blessings, and take in the beauty of cherry blossoms in full bloom.
After that, we’ll take the Maokong Gondola up to Maokong (貓空), where we can enjoy the view, have tea together, and get to know each other better ☁️
