哥倫比亞發生強烈地震：急需您的幫助

週一，哥倫比亞大部分地區發生7.4級地震。至少132人喪生，另有多人受傷。房屋、學校、醫療設施和重要交通幹線遭到破壞或損壞。

我們在當地的合作夥伴@pastoralsocialc 和 已抵達現場。他們正在評估災情，確定最迫切的需求，並為受災民眾提供援助。德國明愛會的救援組織—國際明愛會，已向哥倫比亞明愛會的緊急救援工作捐贈了5萬歐元。

目前情況仍在變化，受災人數可能還會上升。

We stand in solidarity with Colombia.

A 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck Chocó yesterday, affecting 16 departments across the country. At least 126 people have died and nearly 1,500 have been injured, with thousands of homes damaged and essential infrastructure, including health centres, schools, roads and basic services, affected.

The Colombian Bishops' Conference has called on the country to respond "as one family," with hope, solidarity and unity. Caritas Colombia has activated its National Emergency Service, while food banks and church networks mobilise to bring essential supplies to affected communities.

We pray for Colombia, for those who lost their lives, for the injured, and for all those working to rescue and support survivors. 🙏

當求生專家也面臨極限時，會發生什麼事？

阿米娜·伊薩科（Amina Isako）正致力於開創新的希望與曙光。作為我們夥伴團體 PACIDA 的水利工程師，她與團隊共同建造太陽能供水站。這些設施將地下水抽取出來，直接輸送到各個村落與團體之中。

一些詐騙電話始於人口販賣。

今年的「反人口販賣日」（World Day Against Trafficking in Persons）將人們被騙的現象聚焦於一個正在成長的剝削形式：人們通過虛假的工作機會被招募、被販賣到境外，並被迫進行網路詐騙，面臨威脅、暴力和虐待。

Stella Maris Thailand 分享的這個故事提醒我們，有些詐騙電話背後是另一個受害者。一個年輕的泰國女性被誘導到緬甸，承諾會提供一份好的工作。相反，她被困在一個詐騙集團中，被迫進行網路詐騙，並在無法達到目標時被威脅被賣給另一個犯罪集團。經過協調行動後，她的證詞幫助警察識別並逮捕了剝削她的人口販賣的罪犯頭目。

為了對抗網路詐騙，我們必須對抗人口販賣，保護受害者，並拆解這些犯罪的犯罪網絡。

Some scam calls begin with human trafficking.

This year's World Day Against Trafficking in Persons shines a light on a growing form of exploitation: people recruited through fake job offers, trafficked across borders, and forced to carry out online scams under threats, violence and abuse.

This story, shared by Stella Maris Thailand, reminds us that behind some scam calls is another victim. A young Thai woman was lured to Myanmar with the promise of a good job. Instead, she was trapped in a scam compound, forced to carry out online scams, and threatened with being sold to another criminal group when she couldn't meet her targets. After being rescued through coordinated efforts, her testimony helped police identify and arrest the leader of the criminal network that exploited her.

To fight online scams, we must also fight human trafficking, protect victims, and dismantle the criminal networks behind these crimes.

我們對我們的同事Yana的悲劇性喪失感到深感悲痛，她是一名Caritas Kharkiv的社會工作者，於7月26日遭到導彈襲擊，致命傷。

我們的祈禱與她的家人、親人、同事以及所有哀悼這場毀滅性的損失的人同在。我們也為她的10歲兒子康復祈禱，他在同一襲擊中受傷。

We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of our colleague Yana, a social worker with Caritas Kharkiv, who was killed in a missile strike on 26 July.

Our prayers are with her family, her loved ones, her colleagues, and all those mourning this devastating loss. We also pray for the recovery of her 10-year-old son, who was injured in the same attack.

We stand in solidarity with Caritas Ukraine and everyone affected by the ongoing war. Yana dedicated her life to supporting people in need, and this tragedy is one more reminder of why the violence in Ukraine must end.

We renew our call for peace, for the protection of civilians, and for an end to this war.
