🇹🇼 Day in Chiayi ✨

TYL leaders arrived in Chiayi and sat down with Mr. Huang, founder of Ming Hsiung Second-Hand Bookstore — a man who poured his life savings into giving underprivileged children a chance. Our leaders got to hear his story, understand the reason for his passion project and see for themselves his amazing work! Mr. Huang’s story left our leaders moved and reminded them exactly why they’re here.

Tomorrow’s an even bigger day: our leaders roll up their sleeves to help the kids with their English homework. Stay tuned! 💛

🚌📚 On the train to Chiayi! 啟程，出發！

Today our Taiwan Youth Leaders are heading to Ming Hsiung Second-Hand Bookstore for hands-on volunteering.

This is what Sustainability for Good is all about — rolling up sleeves, meeting incredible community leaders, and connecting with local kids who call this bookstore a second home. 🌱💛

Our young leaders showed up big time this week — organizing, collecting, and leading with heart. Huge shoutout to our incredible community, especially the amazing grandpas and grandmas who came out to support these young leaders and ! Your kindness means everything. 🧡

Taiwan Youth Leadership Session 2 Has Officially Begun! 🎉

Welcome our second group of young leaders!

Today, students volunteered with Step30, where they collected, sorted, and organized donated shoes while learning about the social impact and importance of shoe recycling and redistribution.

Leaders also completed a Mandarin assessment and worked together to design fundraising posters for next week’s charity event.

A meaningful day filled with service, learning, teamwork, and purpose. We can’t wait to see how these young leaders grow throughout the journey! 🌟

Real leadership starts with action.

During our 2 weeks program, the young leaders steps out of the classroom and into the community this week. From passing out flyers on the street to raise awareness for our shoe collection drive, to conducting field research for their sustainable solutions, they are learning that change happens when ideas meet action.

Our young leaders are exploring real-world problems, engaging with the public, and discovering how their voices and efforts can make a meaningful impact.

It is about courage, initiative, and service - and doing it in Mandarin! 🌏👟
