ABC Taiwan, represented by Jason Chiang, attended the 31st General Assembly of the International Federation of Audit Bureaux of Circulations (IFABC) held in Bucharest. The event gathered global IFABC members to discuss the latest developments in media audit, transparency in digital advertising, and accountability. Key topics included initiatives such as Trust.txt, the Journalism Trust Initiative (JTI), and new European regulations impacting media freedom.
During the assembly, Manuel Sala from Spain was appointed as the new IFABC President, highlighting the growing importance of media audits and certifications amid rapid digital and AI advancements. Jason Chiang, who also serves as Honorary Treasurer for APABC, emphasized ABC Taiwan's commitment to introducing suitable audit methods for Taiwan’s media landscape. Under his leadership, ABC Taiwan launched a research group focusing on the JTI to study and integrate Western practices for media trust and transparency in Taiwan. Additionally, ABC Taiwan successfully rebranded itself from "ABC Chinese Taipei" to "ABC Taiwan." Chairman Jason Yang reaffirmed ABC Taiwan’s dedication to fostering trust in media through international collaboration and the development of reliable measurement standards.
