🌍 EXTERNAL EVENT | 📢 COMMUNITY BULLETIN

Relocating to a new country means making many important decisions, and choosing the right school for your child is one of the biggest. Taiwan offers a range of education options, from public and private schools to international and experimental schools, each with its own curriculum, learning environment, and admissions process.

This seminar hosted by Talent Taiwan is designed to help international families better understand Taiwan's education system and navigate the school enrollment process with greater confidence. They'll provide an overview of the different schooling options, explain key application timelines, and introduce the resources available to support families throughout their transition.

Whether you're planning your move or have recently arrived in Taiwan, we hope this session gives you the information you need to make informed decisions about your child's education.

✨JOIN US TOMORROW! ✨

We’re excited to welcome international and expat women in Taiwan to our special free women-only collaboration event with Talent Taiwan, featuring our Center Clinical Psychologist, Changling Tu 💛

Moving abroad can be exciting and full of opportunity, but it can also bring loneliness, cultural adjustment, identity shifts, and emotional challenges that are often difficult to talk about. This event is designed to create a safe and supportive space for women to connect, reflect, and feel less alone in the experience of transition.

Together, we’ll explore:
🌿 Culture shock from a nervous system perspective
🌿 The emotional realities of moving abroad
🌿 Identity transition and self-compassion
🌿 Practical ways to support yourself through change

Whether you’ve just arrived in Taiwan or have been here for years, this is an opportunity to connect with other women who may understand exactly what you’re going through.

Receiving a Parkinson’s diagnosis can be life-changing, not only for the individual but also for the family members and caregivers who support them. For international residents in Taiwan, navigating the healthcare system and finding reliable information can add another layer of complexity.

In "Parkinson’s and Me in Taiwan", Katy Ho Boyden shares her experience caring for her late husband, Michael Boyden, after he was diagnosed with Atypical Parkinsonism in February 2019. The book chronicles their journey through diagnosis, treatment, and the progression of the disease, while offering practical observations and personal reflections drawn from their experience in Taiwan.

We are grateful to Katy for making this resource available to our community and hope it may provide guidance, understanding, and encouragement to others facing similar challenges.

What was it like growing up in one of the many "international bubbles" here in Taiwan? Meet Annabelle Hsu, in her article “The Tenant of Two Countries,” as part of the Center’s “Third Culture Kid” series.

In her article, Annabelle reflects on growing up in Taiwan and the struggles of being caught between two nationalities. But through watching her grandfather find a home everywhere he went, she begins to rethink what it means to belong.
