Rotary Youth Exchange District 9620 Rotary Youth Exchange Australia provides an opportunity of a lifetime for Australian high school students to live & study abroad. What are the benefits?

Spend up to 12 months living and studying in a foreign country, learn about yourself while emerging in a different culture Rotary Youth Exchange builds peace one young person at a time. Students learn a new language, discover another culture, and truly become global citizens. Exchanges for students ages 15-17 are sponsored by Rotary clubs in more than 100 countries. Exchange students unlock their

true potential to:
Develop lifelong leadership skills
Learn a new language and culture
Build lasting friendships with young people from around the world
Become a global citizen

How long do exchanges last? Long-term exchanges last a full academic year, and students attend
local schools and live with multiple host families. What are the costs? Room and board are provided, as well as any school fees. Each program varies, but students are usually responsible for:
Round-trip airfare
Travel insurance
Travel documents (such as passports and visas)
Spending money and any additional travel or tours

🌏 Celebrating Ayu’s Year in Australia
As Ayu’s Rotary Youth Exchange year comes to an end, our club reflects with pride on the remarkable young woman she has become during her time in Rotary District 9620. From embracing school life at The Springfield Anglican College to joining in Rotary service and community events, Ayu has approached every experience with curiosity, kindness, and a generous spirit.
Her farewell BBQ brought together school friends, Rotarians, and her host mum and Dad— Club President Sandra Goss and David Goss — for an afternoon of laughter, stories, and gratitude. It was a wonderful reminder of the friendships and connections that make Rotary Youth Exchange so special.
Ayu, thank you for the joy you’ve brought to our club and our community. You will always have a home with the Rotary Club of Woogaroo. 💙💛

We are incredibly proud of our club secretary Myles, representing Rotary Youth Exchange District 9620 recently in Taipei! Myles is a great example of the opportunities being a Rotarian can provide. He is a pivitol member of our club and an asset to the district through his contributions to Rotary Youth Programs. Way to go Myles!

Last weekend, the Rotary District 9620 Youth Exchange committee proudly hosted the graduation lunch for our phenomenal 2025/2026 students: Amanda, Ayu, Pelle, and Turka!

Over the past year, these outstanding youth ambassadors fully embraced the Aussie lifestyle. Here is a snapshot of their unforgettable 12 months:

🏄 Hitting the Waves: Surfing getaways on the Sunshine Coast.
🏕️ The Great Outdoors: Making memories at various youth camps.
✈️ Iconic Travel: Exploring the Northern Territory, Uluru, Sydney, and the Blue Mountains.
🏫 Local Life: Experiencing the daily routine of Aussie high schools.
🎉 Rotary Leadership: Volunteering locally and representing District 9620 at the Rotary Convention.

They arrived as strangers but leave as forever members of our Rotary family, having built lifelong connections and learned firsthand what "service above self" truly means.

We are pleased to announce that Myles, the chair of the D9620 Rotary Youth Exchange Committee, is attending the Rotary International Youth Preconvention in Taipei, Taiwan.

Fantastic to hear from Rotary International President Francesco Arezzo and many others.

Inclusion begins with small gestures; a brief conversation can foster a sense of belonging. Just as our students serve as global ambassadors, so too do the committed Rotarians who support their journey. Together, we are building connections and promoting understanding across the globe.

As you prepare to head home after what we hope has been “the best year of your life,” we invite all LTEP Inbound 2025/26 Students to join the Rotary Youth Exchange Committee for a special debriefing session and graduation lunch.

Come together to reflect on your time here, share your unforgettable experiences, and celebrate everything you have achieved during your exchange!
