內門古稱羅漢門里，三百多年前郭氏先祖從祖籍居地恭迎觀世音菩薩隨船護? 內門古稱羅漢門里，三百多年前郭氏先祖從祖籍居地恭迎觀世音菩薩隨船護佑來台，經翻山越嶺逐水落戶聚集成社。早晚上香祈求｢五穀豐收，人畜興旺｣，日見神威，慈航普渡，救苦救難，廣澤蒼生；因而稱此地名為『觀音亭』民國後簡稱『觀亭』。
