我們的誕生，來自於2009年「臺大獸醫專業學院『關懷生命、愛護動物』專案」，通過「花蓮縣動物權益促進會－花蓮地區眾生同命典範社區與校園建立計畫」開始，在花蓮興建兩處校園狗舍，而我們正是其ㄧ；因所在地位處校園內，一直都採結合校園志工的方式，運用學校提供資源（水、電與土地），成立一塊流浪犬隻的暫時之家。
參與狗舍學生志工會參與動物保護志工教育訓練，培訓成動保種子志工，希望能使動保理念永續執行。
